Art FORM serves the entire community with low-cost creative reuse workshops with a special emphasis on schools and community partners within the city of San Diego and in the San Diego Unified School District. We work with other school districts, programs and communities when our calendar permits.
Our primary focus lies in conducting comprehensive, creative reuse arts education workshops and Artist-In Residencies’ for Title I students and teachers. During our programs participants integrate recycled materials otherwise destined for San Diego landfills, into functional creative projects reinforcing concepts of sustainability those students can apply in their daily lives.
Teachers’ workshops link arts education with creative reuse and promote “outside the box” projects that emphasize problem- solving skills.
Many of our workshops correlate directly with state-mandated learning standards for each grade level, offering teachers the opportunity to connect an Art FORM lesson with their own.
We enable students from diverse backgrounds to explore their own individual choices, to challenge their imaginations, and to leave with a new sense of awareness of how they can be active agents in the changing the world around them.
To inquire if your school or class is eligible for one our 2015-2016 workshops or residencies please send us an email and we will get back with you as soon possible. If we cannot offer you a workshop at this time, we are happy to wait-list your group and contact you when we do have a availability.
