Paper Bag Lanterns, Raold Dahl, and the Mingei Museum

It was enormous crocodile type of fun painting water color characters on paper bag lanterns. ¬†Art FORM’s Erin Pennell designed a project that combined an element of Japanese culture, the paper lantern, and applied water color characters inspired by author Raold Dahl for recent celebration of what would have been his 100th birthday.

It was delightful to be a Guest Artist at the Mingei International Museum for their September Family Event, and a part of the Raold Dahl Celebration all around Balboa Park. Everyone was getting into the action at the Mingei Museum, and 4th graders from Edison Elementary also got to enjoy the project on site at Art FORM during a recent field trip.
